Watch: Joe Jonas Details “Crash and Burn” Audition for The Morning Show
Everything’s alright when Joe Jonas looks his little girls in the eyes.
The Jonas Brothers member—who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex-wife Sophie Turner—shared insight into his coparenting dynamic with the Game of Thrones alum, as well as how fatherhood has changed his life for the better.
“I’m a single dad and I coparent with my children’s mother,” Joe told brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas on the June 2 episode of the Hey Jonas! Podcast. “I think my children have given me purpose again in my life.”
Indeed, his kids have made quite the impact.
“They’ve really given me the reason to be alive, I would say,” he added. “I think, in my saddest moments, I’m able to be reminded quickly that a hug from them can solve the world’s problems in my own world.”
He’s also thankful to have Sophie in his corner.
“There’s a lot of people in my situation that are single parents and go through this, and I’m grateful that I have a co-parent that I can balance even the bad days,” he added. “But I think being able to have good people around me to kind of help me navigate it is really special.”
Joe, 36, filed for divorce from Sophie, 30, in September 2023, requesting “shared parental responsibility” and requesting that a “parenting plan should be established,” according to online records viewed by E! News at the time.
Two weeks after the “Cake by the Ocean” singer’s divorce filing, the Staircase actress sued her estranged husband “as a result of the wrongful retention” of their daughters in New York City “from their habitual residence of England.”

However, in 2024, the pair announced they had reached a shared custody agreement before finalizing their divorce.
Today, the former couple is on much better terms, especially since they both have a shared goal of putting their kids first.
Indeed, Joe shared that his little ones are “the reason I do what I do now.”
And fatherhood has also had a positive impact on his professional life.
“Knowing that I get to work hard if I’m not with them,” he said, “and go back to my shared time where I get to be with them, it makes it so much better to work that much harder.”
Joe added of his kids, “I think they’ve taught me that I’ll be OK even in my toughest days.”
