The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved a review of the 2026 Appropriation Law and the proposed supplementary budget to reflect prevailing revenue realities and emerging expenditure priorities.
The Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday.
He said the review became necessary following changes in the state’s revenue outlook, including adjustments to capital revenue sources and the reversal of savings previously proposed from some expenditure lines.
The commissioner added that new and emerging expenditure priorities requiring government attention also necessitated the review.
