    Watch: ‘Mama June’ Star Jessica Shannon’s Ex Shyann McCant Admits to Cheating Days Before Divorce Filing

    Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon is sharing further insight into her breakup.

    Four days after Shyann McCant admitted she cheated on the Mama June: Family Crisis star during their relationship, Shannon filed for divorce, with court documents obtained by E! News revealing the grounds for the dissolution of their marriage. 

    Shannon alleged in the July 26 filing to the Superior Court of Jones County in Georgia that she was “entitled to a divorce upon the statutory grounds that the marriage is irretrievably broken and there is no hope of reconciliation.”

    The 29-year-old—the second oldest of June “Mama June” Shannon‘sfour kids and half-sister of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson—also confirmed that she would no longer be legally using McCant’s last name as part of their settlement agreement. 

    McCant’s infidelity admission comes nearly two months after Shannon—who listed their date of separation as June 1—confirmed that they had broken up following one year of marriage.

    “Yes, I cheated,” the 23-year-old wrote on Facebook July 21. “I take full responsibility for that. I’m not making excuses, and I’m not trying to change what happened.”

    Although McCant—who confirmed that she is now in a relationship with a woman named MacKenzie—acknowledged that maintaining a public life means she is “opening the door for people to have opinions,” she urged fans to understand that some information about their split will be handled offline.

    “I’ve owned my mistakes. That’s all I can do,” she added. “We’ve all made mistakes. We’ve all got a past. That’s nothing new.”

    The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum—who was stepmom to McCant’s 8-year-old daughter—addressed the cheating on her own Facebook two hours later, emphasizing that she is ready to move forward.

    “At the end of the day, all I want is for everyone to be happy,” she wrote, then, pointing to her stepdaughter, “The only thing that truly matters to me is that little girl. As long as she’s happy, loved, well taken care of, and I get to watch her grow into an amazing young woman, that’s all I care about.”

    For McCant’s part, she is also focusing on her next chapter following the filing.

    “I wasn’t happy,” she said of their marriage in a separate Facebook post. “I wish everyone involved nothing but the best, and I’m moving forward with my life.”

    As Shannon focuses on her newly single era, here comes more celebs who’ve recently called it quits.
