The NFL season is almost here, with less than a week until the first games kick off. The Tennessee Titans have a little over a week until they take on the New York Jets, but their preparations are already well underway.
When they finally take to the field, there will be a lot of pressure on the coaching staff and team to take a step forward in 2026. After back-to-back three-win seasons, fans are growing impatient with the constant struggles and dysfunction. And while that pressure is natural, Bill Barnwell of ESPN points to a Titans player who is under even more pressure to perform in 2026.
JC Latham, OT, Tennessee Titans
Latham improved over the second half of 2025, although he still looks overmatched at times as a pass blocker.
Latham was one of six first-rounders from the 2024 draft mentioned in this article who likely have their potential fifth-year option riding on their performance in 2026, and he will take his game to another level to even have a chance.

He has come into training camp and the preseason with a new attitude and has looked much more comfortable in the new offensive system. And now, with Fernando Carmona winning the right guard position, it would be a huge benefit for Tennessee if Latham can live up to his draft pedigree.
