Watch: Ivanka Trump Supports Vanessa Trump After Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Ivanka Trump is sharing words of encouragement with her former sister-in-law.
After Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife Vanessa Trumpshared her breast cancer diagnosis, her former sister-in-law sent her well-wishes. She wrote under Vanessa’s social media announcement, “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery.”
Vanessa—who shares Kai, 19, Donald, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11, with her ex-husband—detailed her recent health journey, saying in her May 20 Instagram post, “I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, l’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”
The former model, who has been dating Tiger Woods since 2025, went on to explain that she had already undergone one procedure to help treat her cancer. And she further highlighted how her family has been her support system during this difficult time.
“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” Vanessa continued. “Thank you for your kindness and support. It truly means more than I can express.”
The 48-year-old concluded her post by requesting “privacy” so that she could “focus on my health and recovery.”
And although they may no longer be sisters-in-law, Ivanka made sure that Vanessa—who was married to Donald Jr. from 2005 to 2018—knew she could still lean on her, adding to her comment, “Love you mama.”
After all, Ivanka is no stranger to helping a loved one navigate cancer treatments. When her husband Jared Kushner was working in the White House during President Donald Trump’s first term in 2019, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

While the former White House aide underwent a successful surgery to remove a “substantial part” of his thyroid, the experience still left Ivanka feeling existential.
“All of these challenges that remind you how finite and how precious every moment of this life we live are,” she told the Diary of a CEO podcast on April 9, “make you realize you just can’t take anything for granted.”
