Punjab Kings kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the IPL 2026 playoffs after beating Lucknow Super Giants in the final league game on Saturday.
However, their hopes of progressing to the playoffs solely depended on whether Rajasthan Royals would lose to Mumbai Indians on Sunday afternoon.
PBKS were surely hooked to their televisions on May 24 to watch the MI vs RR clash at the Wankhede Stadium, but at the end, it was RR who won the tie and became the fourth team to reach the IPL playoffs this season.
Earlier in the season, PBKS and RR shared a series of social media banter, but after RR’s progress to the next round, the frachise from Jaipur made a final jibe with social media post mocking PBKS.

Although, within less than 24 hours, RR were forced to deleted the ‘X’ post which involved Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor. The video, RR shared, was somewhat derogatory towards the actor.

After RR’s removal of their X post, an unnamed social media handle, shared a news that Arjun Kapoor has filed a legal defamation case against the IPL franchise for using his image in their social media post.
The X post read: “Arjun Kapoor has filed a defamation case against Rajasthan Royals for using his video. He stated that the video harmed his reputation and was defamatory. In response, That’s why Rajasthan Royals had to delete it.”
