However, they were beaten 77-73 in the decider, and there has since been much discourse about Paige Bueckers’ performance.
Paige had 3-14 FG on the night, scored 17 points, provided six assists and managed two blocks.
The reaction to her display has since been very mixed, with some looking to defend the Wings star and others being critical.
One fan wrote: “Wait, I was told she runs circles around CC. Interesting.”
A second commented: “One bad shooting night and everybody forgets who she is. Which version of Paige shows up next season?”

“Paige my son, this was your first playoff. You will come back stronger,” added another.
A fourth tweeted: “Even I can admit with CC the Wings win that specific game. She’s the reason the Wings lost.”
Another suggested: “In the clutch she was scared to get the ball and literally was trying to hide in corner.”
A sixth wrote: “She was scared of the moment. Short on everything,” while another fan suggested: “I mean isn’t this her rookie year? Gotta give her a pass.”
Bueckers and the rest of the Wings side will now look towards the offseason and building for next year.
