Inter Milan have made their move to beat Premier League teams to the signing of Marco Palestra.
The right-back is Inter’s top target to replace Denzel Dumfries, who is closing in on a transfer to Real Madrid. The Spanish side have activated the €20m release clause in Dumfries’ deal at the San Siro.

Palestra shone last season on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta, where he was named Serie A’s Best Defender for the 2025/26 campaign. The 21-year-old scored once and provided four assists from wing-back and earned his first caps for Italy in March.
Atalanta are demanding a starting figure of €50m (£43m) for Palestra, according to Fabrizio Romano, with Inter currently valuing the defender at around €40m (£34.5m). Atalanta have informed the Serie A champions that that figure is not enough to get a deal done.
However, Inter will need to move quickly to secure a deal with several Premier League teams, including Liverpool, tracking the defender.
