The Boston Celtics were bounced by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and it would not be surprising to see them make a major move this offseason.

The Celtics blew a 3-1 lead for the first time in franchise history against the 76ers. They have been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo in trade rumors, and any deal to acquire the two-time MVP would presumably require the Celtics to move Jaylen Brown. Celtics insider Brian Robb proposed a trade that would send Brown to the Portland Trail Blazers to help the Celtics acquire Antetokounmpo.
Robb’s Proposal: Trail Blazers trade Jerami Grant, Shaedon Sharpe and swap rights on Bucks first-round picks from 2028-2030 to the Bucks in three-team deal that brings Giannis Antetokounmpo to Boston.
“Brad Stevens has done plenty of dealing with the Blazers in recent seasons, acquiring Jrue Holiday from Portland in 2023 and trading him back there in June 2025,” wrote Robb. “Logically, the Blazers line up nicely as a third team in a Giannis Antetokounmpo swap since they own either draft picks or swaps with the Bucks from 2028-2030.”
Brown’s trade value may be as high as it’s been since he signed a supermax. He received MVP consideration last season and was named to the All-NBA Second Team. He would be a great addition to a Trail Blazers team that made the playoffs last season.

Brown is extension-eligible this summer as well. He could become a long-term piece for the Trail Blazers and be their new No. 1 option. He thrived as the No. 1 option last season on the Celtics while Jayson Tatum was hurt.
