Watch: Halle Berry Says She Has “Zero “F—s” to Give in Latest Chapter of Her Life
As Halle Berry enters her next chapter, she’s ready to thrive another day.
“I’m so happy to still be here,” the Die Another Day alum said on Making Space With Hoda Kotb last month. “When I was growing up and I thought of 60, it felt so old. And now that I am 60, it doesn’t feel old at all.”
So yes, she’s berry much looking forward to what’s to come.
“I feel better than I have in a very, very long time,” she continued. “I feel more myself. I feel all of myself, and I’m excited.”
That includes staying busier than ever as Berry is acting, producing, running her menopause care company Respin and raising 18-year-old daughter Nahla and 12-year-old son Maceo-Robert.
“People have said it to me, ‘Are you still going to keep working in movies?'” the Oscar winner noted. “And I say, ‘Yeah, why should I not?’ And people actually say, ‘But you’ve done so much. Isn’t it time to just quit all that and sit down somewhere and just be on a permanent vacation?’ And I think that’s the expectation that comes with aging.”
While Berry isn’t ready for a “permanent vacation,” she still enjoys a good getaway. After kicking off the birthday festivities early with a family trip to Fiji earlier this summer, the Monster’s Ball star noted on Instagram she had booked another birthday celebration: “This time just me and my man.”
As in her fiancé and partner of six years, Van Hunt.
The actress and the musician met through text in 2020 after his brother, who worked for her company Respin, played matchmaker.
“I said something like, ‘I don’t like to be set up,'” she recalled on Today in June 2025, “and he said, ‘Well, how has that worked out for you?’ And I said, ‘OK, touché.'”
Having endured divorces from baseball player David Justice, singer Eric Benét and French actor Olivier Martinez (dad to Maceo-Robert),plus the end of her five-year relationship with model Gabriel Aubry, Nahla’s father, Berry did her share of healing before meeting Hunt.
And knowing how badly she wanted something different, she feels she manifested her relationship with him.
“Having gone through three divorces, I finally knew what wasn’t working,” the Catwoman alum explained on Today in February 2025. “And I realized I was always saying to the universe what I didn’t want.”
So, she changed her thinking to what she did want in a partner.
“I got very granular with it,” Berry continued, “and then he showed up.”

Not that the Gothika star needed a man as she’s made it clear she was ready to go on her journey alone.
“I’ve heard people say, ‘Oh, something must be wrong with Halle Berry. She can’t keep a man.’ Who’s to say I want to keep a man?” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show in February 2025. “I don’t want to keep the wrong man. Like, I’m not crazy. So when you find that you make a mistake, we all make mistakes, we have a right to say, ‘Oh god, this was a mistake. Let me start again.'”
With Hunt, “We wrote letters, text messages, we talked and nothing was off the table,” she told Dr. Emily Morse on Sex With Emily in February, noting they “told each other our good, our bad and our dirty.”
So by the time they met in-person six months later, they’d already developed a deep connection.
“We had sex the first day we met,” she continued. While she had never done that before, “I already knew him so well because we had eight-10-hour conversations daily about everything.”
And while Berry has been open about her journey into perimenopause and how it changed her sex life, she noted the intimacy is “back on and popping.” In fact, she said sex is “better now because I can now say to my partner, ‘Here’s what I want. Here’s what I don’t want.'”
However, this is just part of their relationship. As Hunt wrote on Instagram for Valentine’s Day 2025, “The deeper we go the more ways I find to love you.”

In February, Berry confirmed they took their love to the next level by getting engaged. And while the couple hasn’t announced a wedding date yet, they don’t need a piece of paper to prove they’re family (in addition to being stepdad to Berry’s kids, Hunt is dad to son Drake).
While Berry is protective of her kids’ privacy, she has given glimpses into their world—including being “soccer mom” for Maceo-Robert’s team and getting ready to send Nahla off to college.
“I’m not one of these moms that feels like, ‘Oh, she’s leaving,'” Berry said on Today in June 2025. “Yes, will I worry? Of course, but am I excited for her to start her life and figure out who she’s gonna be? Absolutely.”
And ultimately, Berry just wants her kids to pursue their own passions.
“I don’t expect them to be clones of me, do what I do. I don’t expect to really influence who they become,” she said at a 2024 roundtable for her movie Never Let Go, per People. “My job is to just hold space for them and nurture them, feed them, take care of them, provide them different opportunities, but then they have to decide for themselves.”
