Emmanuel Acho isn’t completely convinced by Michigan‘s 17-10 win over Oklahoma. The Wolverines moved to 2-0 under head coach Kyle Whittingham, but their offensive numbers left plenty to be desired.
Acho believes that the result says as much about Oklahoma’s struggles as it does about Michigan’s second straight win. The former NFL star took to X to share his thoughts on the game. He posted his comments with a screenshot of the game’s box score.

“That’s a disgusting loss for Oklahoma. But it’s even more inexcusable when you look at Michigan’s box score,” Acho wrote.
Michigan managed just 263 total yards, while Bryce Underwood completed only 9 of 17 passes for 111 yards. The Wolverines also failed to record a passing touchdown. Despite those struggles, they still found a way to win.
According to Acho, Michigan’s offense was subpar, and while Oklahoma’s defense did a good job, their offense let the team down.
At the postgame press conference, Oklahoma coach Brent Venables talked about his team’s performance. Venables believes the loss won’t severely affect the players’ mindset, and they’ll be ready for the challenges ahead.

“It’s no more difficult than it was two weeks ago,” he said, per ESPN. “It’s the same schedule, and our guys are ready for it. They understand the challenge. … They’re not going to be fearful of, ‘all of a sudden you lost a one-score game on the road in front of 107,000 people. We had an opportunity late with the ball to go down and tie it up. There’s no worry, doubt, or fatalistic mindset. That’s not this locker room.”
Oklahoma will play New Mexico, Georgia, and Texas in their next three games.
While Bryce Underwood’s passing numbers were underwhelming in Week 2 as well, he made an impact on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, including a 38-yard score.

After the game, Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham said that it was part of the plan to utilize Underwood as a runner.
“It was part of the plan,” he said, per SB Nation. “We still understand that we need to get the throw game into higher gear and get more production there.”
Whittingham said that Underwood’s performance in Week 2 was “much better,” and if he continues to get better like this, the Michigan Wolverines would be a tough team to beat.
