Husband who slit wife’s throat, hammered knife into her heart to ensure she was dead gets life in prison
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (TCN) — A man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the death of his wife in 2025.
On March 11, 2025, police arrived at the home of James Frank, 58, and his wife, 55-year-old Deborah Glaser, to perform a welfare check. WFMZ reportsFrank had not shown up to work the previous day, and no one answered the door when his employer came to the house to check on him. Police eventually gained access to the house by using a ladder to climb through a second-story window.
Frank told responding authorities that Glaser was dead in the bathtub. Authorities found Glaser’s body in the bathroom, covered in multiple stab wounds. They also located several cutting instruments, a hammer, and a mallet. Frank told them he had cut Glaser’s throat with a steak knife while she was still alive and used a hammer to beat a knife into her heart approximately 10 times to make sure she was dead.
Frank was arraigned the same day and charged with criminal homicide, according to the Northampton County Office of the District Attorney.
On June 17, Frank was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, WPVI reports.
