District 2 teams return to action after a week off when the PIAA playoffs start this week in boys volleyball, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.
In boys lacrosse, District 2 Class 2A champion and undefeated Scranton Prep (19-0) will host District 3 runner-up Lower Dauphin (18-3) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Scranton Prep is ranked No. 1 in the state for Class 2A according to MaxPreps. Lower Dauphin is ranked fifth.
Abington Heights (16-4), the runner-up to Scranton Prep, will play at District 4 Selinsgrove (14-4) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The two teams met in a nonleague game to open the season. Abington Heights defeated the Seals, 15-5.
In girls lacrosse, Abington Heights, winners of three straight District 2 Class 2A championships, will play District 3 runner-up Twin Valley (18-2) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Last season, Abington Heights reached the PIAA semifinals.
District 2 Class 2A runner-up Crestwood (18-2) will play at District 4 champion Danville (11-9) at 3 p.m.

In boys volleyball Tuesday, District 2 Class 3A champion Abington Heights (15-5) faces District 11 runner-up Whitehall (16-4) at 7 p.m. at Abington Heights High School.
District 2 Class 2A champion Crestwood (18-2) hosts District 12 bronze medalist Masterman (10-7) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Boys lacrosse
Braedon McPartland and his brother, Will McPartland, lead the Cavaliers with 56 goals each. Mackey Lynett, who scored six goals in the District 2 Class 2A championship win over Abington Heights, has 49 goals, and Owen McPartland, a freshman, has 44 goals and 29 assists.
Scranton Prep’s Packy James has 75 saves, and James Stallman has 66 saves.

Cole Duffy, Hace Ganly and Cody Woodring are the leaders for Lower Dauphin, which lost to Lampeter-Strasburg, 6-5, in overtime in the District 3 championship game.
Sophomore Chris Bohn scored five goals for Abington Heights, which held a fourth-quarter lead for the second time this season against Scranton Prep, and is the team’s leading scorer with 64 goals and 52 assists this season.
Gavin Anders has 45 goals and 25 assists, Braghan Pallis has 43 goals and 38 assists, Rodman Azar has 42 goals and 13 assists and Gavin Lindsay has 41 goals and 25 assists for the balanced Abington Heights scoring attack.
In the win over Selinsgrove to start the season, Anders, Azar and Lindsay each had three goals for the Comets. Goalie Colton Naholnik had seven saves.

Selinsgrove defeated Bellefonte, 9-6, to win the District 4-6 Class 2A subregional final and reach the PIAA playoffs.
Benjamin Bucher, who has 147 career goals, has 58 goals and 22 assists this season. Nash Fordyce has 46 goals and 29 assists, and Grahm Davis has 43 goals and 30 assists for the Seals.
Girls lacrosse
Abington Heights’ Morgan Davis comes off an 11-goal effort in a 15-11 win over Crestwood in the District 2 Class 2A championship game. She has 100 goals this season.
Allie Rothenberger has 64 goals and 29 assists, Brooklyn Yankow, who scored three goals against Crestwood, has 53 goals, and Olivia Kim has 49 assists for the Lady Comets.

Twin Valley lost to Wyomissing, 6-5, in the District 3 final. Ellie Kaplan scored three goals and is the program’s all-time leader with 293 career goals.
Crestwood’s Jackie Gallagher scored five goals in the loss to Abington Heights. She has 205 career goals, and Gia Caporuscio had three goals to give her 251 career goals. Lexi Zabroski made seven saves to give her 269 career saves.
Gracie Kitka scored six goals to lead Danville to the District 4 championship with a 12-7 win over Selinsgrove.
Boys volleyball
Abington Heights claimed a second straight District 2 Class 3A championship with a 3-0 win over Hazleton Area.

Nolan Moore has 238 kills, Dan Beck has 185 kills, Ben Reese has 155 kills and Billy Johnson has 152 kills for the Comets. Ryan Horutz has 645 assists.
Whitehall upset top-seeded Parkland, 3-0, in the District 11 Class 3A semifinals, before losing to Emmaus in the final.
Jayden Haik, Cole Rozycki and Kole Myer lead Whitehall.
JJ Stec led Crestwood to the District 2 Class 2A championship win over Holy Redeemer last week at Scranton High School. He had 20 kills, giving him 501 this season.
Eric Rinehimer added 18 kills, pushing his season total to 237, and Zach Koons had 40 assists, giving him 817 this season.
