Vegas took control of the series Tuesday with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 5, as Pavel Dorofeyev scored twice, including the winner 4:10 into OT. Jack Eichel assisted on the decisive goal and finished with two helpers, while Carter Hart made 34 saves to put the Golden Knights one win from the Western Conference Final.

Anaheim still has a path back home after pushing Game 5 to overtime on Olen Zellweger’s late tying goal, and Beckett Sennecke has been one of the Ducks’ best stories after scoring in four straight playoff games. But the Ducks will need to protect Lukas Dostal better after he faced 32 shots in Game 5, and Vegas’ depth scoring has started to tilt the series.
One major Game 6 storyline is Brayden McNabb’s absence after he was suspended one game for a late hit on Ryan Poehling in Game 5. That removes a veteran defenseman from Vegas’ lineup in a close-out game and gives Anaheim a little more room to attack as it tries to force Game 7.
