The wide receiver room has been the talk of Houston over the past two weeks with the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade and the impending return of Tank Dell.

The New York Giants will start J.J. McCarthy over Jameis Winston after McCarthy’s play in the fourth quarter last week against the New Orleans Saints. McCarthy entered in the fourth quarter with the Giants down 34-10 and brought them within 14 yards of tying the game.
He will be the 12th starting quarterback for New York since Eli Manning retired after the 2019 season.
“For us, it really doesn’t matter who plays quarterback,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Defensively, it’s been about our process and how do we do things that we do the right way and do them well. Whoever’s that quarterback doesn’t really dictate what we’re going to do defensively. It’s about us.” – Peter Warren

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy. who’s had a turbulent two-plus seasons in the NFL since being drafted by Minnesota in the first round in 2024, will make his first start for the Giants on Sunday. The trip to Houston brings him back to the site of his greatest football success. It was at Reliant Stadium that McCarthy led Michigan to a 34-13 victory over Washington in the College Football Playoff championship game to end the 2023 season, bringing home just the second national championship for the Wolverines since 1948, and the first outright title in 75 years. – Greg Rajan
