Watch: Hilary Duff Shares Daughter Mae Was in Emergency Room Hours Before MSG Debut
Hilary Duff’s daughter has a style that’s so yesterday—in the best possible way.
The Lizzie McGuire alum and Matthew Koma’s daughter Mae proved she’s her mom’s literal mini-me while sporting an all too familiar hairstyle.
In an Instagram Story Koma shared Sept. 3, Mae smiled proudly while sporting Lizzie McGuire’s signature space buns while eating lunch. And the Disney alum’s daughter took the look a step further, pulling together her early 2000s homage with a pink tie dye top.
Knowing fans would immediately make the connection, Koma simply tagged his wife, leaving the photo otherwise captionless.
For her part, Duff—also mom to Banks, 7, and Townes, 2, with Koma, as well as Luca, 14, with ex Mike Comrie—has made sure her daughters know all about her power in pop culture. In fact, her little ones have been a staple on her recent tour, even appearing on stage during her Madison Square Garden show last month.
During the Aug. 7 show, Banks, Mae and Townes all joined their mom on stage to indulge in a slice of pizza. As her daughters gathered around her on stage, they all waved to the audience before tasting the pie.
Mae, for her part, was quick to share her review of the New York slice.
“It’s good,” Mae said to the audience, “But it’s cold.”
To which Duff joked, “I like cold pizza.”
And while her girls were naturals on stage, the mom in Duff was quick to ensure they didn’t overstay their MSG welcome.
“I love you guys so much,” Duff mused, “but if we’re going to get to bed tonight can you guys take this pizza off the stage?”
The “What Dreams Are Made Of” singer quipped as she led them off stage, “Best delivery girls.”

And while Duff’s daughters have appeared to come around to her career, she previously admitted they’re understandably much more interested in her role as their mom.
“My kids don’t care about my work,” she told E! News in 2024. “They are big fans of me, but not of projects that they keep going back to. Maybe in time.”
Naturally, Duff is more than OK to pass the Lizze McGuire baton to her daughter. As she added to E! at the time, “I just try to have them be the stars of this household.”
