Watch: HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Shares Daughter Darla Was Hospitalized After “Traumatic” Accident
Jasmine Roth is on the other side of a horrible day.
The star of HGTV’s Hidden Potential recently detailed a fall that landed her and husband Brett Roth’s baby girl Darla, 21 months, in the ER.
“Today was a rough one,” Jasmine—who is also mom to Hazel, 6, and is currently pregnant with her and Brett’s third—wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story June 1. “Darla had her first ER visit (our first since having kids) and it was a LOT.”
Jasmine, 41, shared that Darla had fallen from the couch and hit her head on the coffee table on the way down, causing a half-inch laceration around her eyebrow.
“I was home alone with both girls and had to rush us to the hospital,” Jasmine explained. “Brett met us there. Darla is OK but it took seven stitches to close her back up. She is such a trooper. I’m going to put our coffee table in storage until the kids are in college.”
Showing a photo of Darla’s wound untreated, Jasmine emphasized, “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
“I was so scared for her,” Jasmine continued. “Poor baby cried but she was so brave.”
Later, the reality star used the opportunity to remind her followers of a parenting PSA.
“Just a reminder that being a parent isn’t about all the pressure we put on ourselves to make everything perfect,” Jasmine added in a separate Instagram Story. “It’s about keeping them as safe as possible and being there for them when something goes wrong.”

The following day, Jasmine shared an encouraging update, showing the toddler happily hoisting a piece of popcorn into the air.
“Thank you for all the nice messages about Darla!” Jasmine wrote in the June 2 post, in which Darla’s stitches were visible. “She had swelling today but otherwise in good spirits. Her stitches dissolve in 10 days on their own and hopefully her scar isn’t too bad.”
