Watch: Heather Rae El Moussa Says “Marriage Can Be Hard” in Anniversary Message to Tarek El Moussa
Heather Rae El Moussa is sharing some proper tea about her and Christine Quinn’s Selling Sunset return.
Three months after it was confirmed the pair were coming back to the Netflix series for season 10, the reality star detailed her experience filming the show this time around, including what it’s been like sharing the screen with Christine once again.
“You’ll have to wait and see,” Heather exclusively told E! News at the KARMA Automotive Celebration in Los Angeles, Calif., on July 25 about where she stands with her former costar. “But I would say some fun, some bad.”
The real estate agent—who shares 3-year-old son Tristan with husband Tarek El Moussa—confirmed her departure from Selling Sunset ahead of season seven, a little over a year after Christine left the series following the fifth season.
And during both of their time away from the show, they “did not speak,” according to Heather.
“I don’t want to reveal [more details], because there is something juicy that happens in the very beginning,” she teased. “But we had not spoken for, I’d say, four years.”
And Heather confirmed that cameras were rolling when she and Christine reunited, again using the word “juicy” to describe the moment.
As for how she feels about returning to the Netflix series, the HGTV star agreed that while it’s felt like riding a bike and has been “a lot of fun,” she’s also experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. And, to no surprise, there hasn’t been a lack of drama.
“I’ve been in my little cocoon down in Newport Beach and filming my other show, The Flip Off,” Heather continued. “There’s some drama on that, but it’s house drama. This is a whole other level again.”
And in the nearly three years since she announced her exit from Selling Sunset, Heather emphasized that she’s changed in more ways than one.
“Personally, I’m different. I’m in a really good place,” she explained. “I’m a very strong person right now.”
And while the 38-year-old and her costars may face obstacles in the show, she noted that she’s “not letting things affect me the way that they maybe did before.”

But Heather and Christine’s returns to Selling Sunset are just two of the major cast shakeups following 2025’s season nine. After all, OGs Chrishell Stause and Mary Bonnet confirmed their departures, while Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Alanna Gold and Sandra Vergara also shared they won’t be returning.
As for what Heather believes is behind the exodus? “If anyone saw season nine, you saw that it was a very heavy season,” she explained, “and it was really challenging for the girls to even be together in the same room, which is hard when you work together and you’re filming a reality show together. “
“It obviously wasn’t my choice, and I’m friends with pretty much all the girls still,” Heather added. “It was sad for me to see them go, but it’s going to be really exciting for the fans.”
