Harry Kane is showing no signs of slowing down at age 33. The Bayern Munich star has won the European Golden Shoe twice in the last three years, got named German Footballer of the Year in 2026 and just led England to the World Cup semi-finals.
With Kane aging like fine wine, it’s natural to wonder what the rest of his career will look like. Kane is reportedly on the verge of a new contract with Bayern Munich, and he told reporters Wednesday he plans to play in an elite league like Bundesliga until his performance begins to dip.

What comes next may come as a shock to soccer fans. Kane said he’s considering a scenario down the road in which he doubles as an MLS player and NFL placekicker.
“Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that it might be a thing where you could connect the two, with the seasons,” Kane said. “But it is in the back of my mind because right now, I am feeling that I want to play as long as I can here.”
Kane says if he were ever to make the NFL leap, he’d take six months to a year beforehand to practice kicking American footballs. Brandon Aubrey famously paved the way by going from MLS player to All-Pro NFL kicker, a transition Kane thinks is difficult but attainable.

“I take penalties and it is a very similar pressure and technique,” Kane said. “If I did that, in terms of training, I would be closer to that more than to any other sport. But as I know, with all elite sports, when you watch it on TV, people make it look easy, and you think it is possible, but that is not always the case. If I was to do it, it is something I would take seriously.”
Apparently Kane is a huge NFL fan who’s looked up to Tom Brady as inspiration. They’ve certainly mastered the art of longevity in professional sports, so it’d be fascinating to see Kane give Brady’s sport a shot.
