Watch: Gracie Abrams Worried “Stable” Paul Mescal Romance Would Threaten Her Writing
Gracie Abrams has no bad blood with Taylor Swift.
In fact, the “Close to You” singer proved just that while reflecting on her time as an opener on the Grammy winner’s sold-out Eras Tour in 2023 and 2024, describing the experience as a “masterclass.”
“You get to watch this titan of the industry, top down, make the experience for every single person who ever attended,” Abrams raved on the Aug. 20 episode of Therapuss, “every single person who works to make it happen, the best version of the experience that it could be.”
Explaining how the tour had “very summer camp vibes,” the 26-year-old continued, “I learned on a personal level that the show always goes on no matter what.”
“You would never know if she was sick. You would never know if her heart was aching,” Abrams praised of Swift. “She’s just giving it everything and doing it with grace and warmth.”
She added, “She’s just this fiercely brilliant, singular kind of alien. But she’s a person.”
Abrams’ glowing remarks come after speculation of a feud between the singers, which was heightened in July when the Abrams shared a photo of the dress she wore to Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding in an Instagram carousel also featuring an image of the “Bad Blood” artist’s ex Joe Alwyn.
Rumors also swirled online that Abrams’ song “Death Wish,” in which she sings about how a friend’s “light of a million suns burns through people,” was about an alleged fallout with Swift.

However, songwriter Aaron Dessner—who’s collaborated with both Abrams and Swift—recently set the record straight about the true inspiration behind the track.
“It was written at a time when [Abrams] was writing about a friend’s ex, being in a bad relationship,” he told Billboard, emphasizing that the song is “definitely not” about Swift. “So it was kind of about that person, I think. I wouldn’t even actually know who that person was.”
