Watch: Kevin McHale Slams “Diabolical” Comments About Glee “Curse” Years After 3 Costars Died
Kevin McHale is ensuring his friendship with Naya Rivera lives on.
More than six years after his Glee costar’s death, Kevin shed light into bond with Naya’s son Josey Hollis Dorsey, 11, with whom she shared with ex Ryan Dorsey, while reflecting on his life in New York City.
“One full year since moving to NYC and I’m overwhelmingly grateful I get to be here with @austineyes,” Kevin wrote in an Oct. 9 Instagram post featuring a carousel of photos. “A year of seeing longtime friends, finding my people, and getting to work with so many wonderful, ridiculously talented and supportive people.”
“My body and mind have been challenged and fulfilled in ways I didn’t know I were possible,” he added. “I’m so damn lucky.”
Among those “wonderful” people was his late friend’s son.
After all, one of the shots in the batch of 38-year-old’s photos included a sweet image of Kevin hanging out with Josey and Ryan.
In the pic, which appeared to have been taken by the Yellowstone alum, Kevin and Josey were all smiles as they posed for the camera, with the tween wearing a white striped T-shirt with blue sleeves.
The father-son pair—who live in Charleston, West Virginia—were presumably visiting New York City to see Kevin make his Broadway debut in The Rocky Horror Show in late August.
The sweet snap comes six years after Naya died in a drowning accident during a boating trip in July 2020, in which Josey was by her side. Since the tragedy, Kevin has shed light on his and Josey’s life together.

And it seems his mom’s legacy will live on as the Palm Royale star recently shared that his son has already caught the acting bug.
After all, E! News recently confirmed that Josey will make his big screen debut in writer-director Evan Coury‘s upcoming feature film The Burning Valley alongside his dad.
And it seems Ryan couldn’t be happier for his and Naya’s son to be following in their footsteps, telling E! News in August that Josey’s new gig makes him a “very proud dad.”
