Cam Skattebo‘s cemented himself as a cult legend in New York. The New York Giants running back is quite the personality on and off the field. One such example was in Week 1 of this season. Skattebo was spotted before the Giants’ season opener driving his truck through New Jersey with his friends. Fans took a video of the star running back, in which he bantered with the fans as well.
Naturally, Skattebo was asked about this interaction with the fans. Here’s what the Giants running back had to say about his now-viral video.

“Yeah, it was fun,” Skattebo said, per SNY Giants on X. “As I come in and out of this building every day, I see these guys working in the parking lot. I see them every day. I like to mess with those guys, give them a hard time. I’ve made friends with a couple of them. Those guys, they know me every time I drive by. Whatever car I’m in, they know who it is. Those are my guys. I was giving them some crap, giving a little love to them. It was just all fun and games.”
Skattebo is coming off one of the most gruesome injuries in recent memory. The Giants running back suffered a leg injury in 2025 after fracturing his ankle severely. You wouldn’t know that, though, if you had just watched Skattebo play in Week 1. The electric running back had himself a day against the Dallas Cowboys, getting 81 yards on 18 carries for a touchdown.
Skattebo admitted after the season that he contemplated retirement after suffering that injury last year.
“Coming out of college, going to the NFL, I think I gave myself one rule, and it was if I ever got a major injury, I was done playing, and that happened 7 games into my career,” Skattebo said on the Up & Adams show. “It kind of sucked, but I think that really helped me find who I am as a player.”
