Florida State baseball’s ACC Tournament quarterfinal against Pitt has been moved up to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22, to accommodate potentially severe weather in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area.
The game was initially scheduled for 7 p.m. at Truist Park, but was moved up to avoid the weather threat. The tournament also moved up Thursday’s quarterfinal games to deal with a similar weather threat. FSU will be the second game of the day, taking the field after North Carolina plays Virginia Tech Friday morning, with an 11 a.m. first pitch.
The 3-seeded Seminoles (38- 16, 19-11 ACC) last played Miami in the regular season finale, winning two of the three games played.

The Panthers beat Wake Forest 7-4 in the second round of the tournament with a game that started on May 20 and ended at nearly 2 a.m. on Thursday, May 21. The Panthers took advantage of two Demon Deacon errors and 11 walks, which helped Pitt build its four-run lead and lean on its bullpen.
This is the second time the Seminoles will play the Panthers this year. In the regular season, FSU swept Pitt, with ACC Pitcher of the Year Wes Mendes throwing a complete game in game one of the series. The Seminoles outscored the Panthers 24-10 in the sweep, with outfielders John Stuetzer and Brody DeLamielleure a big part of that success.
