    Frankie Muniz Details Hitting “Rock Bottom” Weeks After Divorce News

    Watch: Frankie Muniz’s Ex Paige Price Defends Him After He Deletes Divorce Announcement Video

    Frankie Muniz isn’t racing away from his struggles. 

    The Malcolm in the Middle actor got candid about what he’s been going through over the last six weeks, admitting his life has felt like “a nightmare I’m praying to wake up from.”

    “Everything felt heavy, unclear, and like it was falling apart at the same time,” Muniz posted on X Sept. 18. “I wouldn’t wish this season on anyone.”

    The admission comes over two months after he and wife Paige Price—with whom he shares 5-year-old son Mauz Mosley Muniz—announced their divorce after six years of marriage.

    Still, there is a silver lining for the 40-year-old, as he explained, “The unexpected gift in the middle of it is that I’ve had nowhere to hide. I’ve had time to sit with myself, do real self-reflection, and finally see the areas of my life that need work if I want to become a better version of me. Not the polished version I show the world…the actual one.”

    Muniz said he recently read that “sometimes hitting rock bottom is the thing that wakes you up” and becomes a catalyst to force “the changes you needed to make all along so you can live the best life possible.”

    And that idea stayed with the race car driver, who imagined in five years time he will “look back at this exact low point and feel grateful for it,” especially because getting to a better place in his life necessitated going through the difficulty.

    “This isn’t the end of the story. It’s the part where I start doing the work…the uncomfortable, unglamorous, necessary work. I’m choosing to treat this season as the foundation, not the finish line,” Muniz wrote. “If you’re in a low place right now too, you’re not broken. You’re being rebuilt. Let’s keep going!”

    In recent weeks, Muniz has been open about the difficult time he’s been facing, posting on X Aug. 26, “Am I naive to say that I didn’t know that having a broken heart actually meant your heart physically aches. I’d rather break my back again.”

    On Sept. 1 he wrote, “Struggling,” and a few days later on Sept. 6 shared two photos of himself as a child, captioning the pictures, “Sometimes I wish I could go back to this.”

Terrified, obviously, because that veil was lifted, but relieved that I had the knowledge of why I had suffered for so many years with depression and anxiety.”Noting how grateful she was for the support system, she added, “Although this does not mean that it has all gone away, I can say that after a year of a lot of intense work, that I am happier, I am healthier and I’m in control of my emotions and thoughts more than I’ve ever been.”

    “It Took the Fear Away”Selena first shared in April 2020 while on Miley Cyrus‘ “Bright Minded: Live” Instagram series that she’d been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.”Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals,” she said, referring to McLean, “and I discussed that, after years of going through a lot of different things, I realized that I was bipolar and so, when I go to know more information, it actually helps me. It doesn’t scare me once I know it and I think people get scared of that…I wanted to know everything about it and it took the fear away.”

    “I Want to Challenge Other Businesses and Individuals to Make a Difference””I want to ensure that everyone—no matter their age, their race, religion, sexual orientation—has access for services that support their mental health,” Selena said in May 2022, at the White House during the Mental Health Youth Action Forum hosted by MTV Networks. “And I want to challenge other businesses and individuals to make a difference in the world by taking action to de-stigmatize mental health. We need as much help as we can possibly get developing resources and services and increasing access to those services for young people.”
