A former Michigan State Spartan has been reportedly dismissed by his new team ahead of fall camp.
Former Spartans cornerback Chance Rucker has reportedly dismissed from his new team. According to a report from Chris Karpman of 247Sports, Arizona State has “parted ways” with Rucker per a pair of his sources. Rucker will now be with the Sun Devils this season due to “internal team standards issues.”

Rucker transferred to Arizona State his past offseason, arriving in January. He was expected to compete for a “two-deep role” according to Karpman.
Rucker appeared in 23 games across three seasons with the Spartans from 2023 to 2025. He recorded 31 tackles, one interception and six passes defended during his time with Michigan State.
Rucker has two years of eligibility remaining and presumably will be looking for a new home for the 2027 season.
