Former Georgia Bulldogs safety Major Burns has signed an NFL contract with the Miami Dolphins. Burns spent just one season at Georgia prior to transferring to the LSU Tigers after the 2020 season, but the former Dawg will now look to shine in the NFL nonetheless.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds, Burns is an extremely talented safety that will look to make the Miami roster this season. The former Bulldog was most recently a standout safety in the UFL with the Houston Gamblers, and Burns’ play across the 2026 campaign earned him a deal with the Dolphins this offseason. Burns has excellent speed and athleticism. He will hope to emerge as a regular contributor in Miami’s secondary.

Burns originally went undrafted in 2025 following the end of his collegiate career at LSU. The safety recorded four interceptions and 45 total tackles with the Gamblers last season, and Burns earned All-UFL honors following an elite campaign in Houston. Burns was a solid contributor during his one season at Georgia, as yet another former Bulldog has earned himself an NFL deal following the announcement.
Georgia continues to produce elite NFL talent on a yearly basis. Burns has finally earned himself an NFL opportunity despite going undrafted last year, and the former Bulldog is a good story for the UFL.
