Florida State is set to hit the road this Saturday to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Unfortunately for the Seminoles, they’re riding a nine-game losing streak away from Doak Campbell Stadium. Plus, Alabama is looking for revenge for losing to FSU in last year’s season opener.
So far this season, Alabama’s defense has been stingy as they’ve only given up 65 yards rushing, and they’ve also scored two touchdowns. On top of that, opponents have only been successful on one of their 23 attempts on third down. For a Florida State offense that hasn’t been consistent, it’s a tough assignment.

With that said, games have to be played on the field and not on paper. So, here are five reasons why Florida State can beat Alabama.
FSU will need all the help they can get against Alabama. The best way to do that, especially on the road, is to take the ball away and create short fields to score. The Seminoles’ defense got four against the SMU Mustangs in a tough loss on Sept. 7, and they need a few in this game.
Ousmane Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr. have been the backbone of FSU’s offense this season. It will be very important for them to establish the run and give quarterback Ashton Daniels opportunities to beat the Crimson Tide in the passing game by keeping Alabama’s defense honest.

Both Robinson and Danzy have failed to reach 80 yards total over the first two games, and that’s simply unacceptable. Daniels will need to attack Alabama downfield with both of his top weapons on the outside. This type of balance with the run game will assist in an upset.
At some point, a player like Daniels, who has talent, has one of those performances that carries a team. He’s proved that he could play big against Alabama last season when he was with the Auburn Tigers as he racked up 259 yards passing and 108 yards rushing. This is the type of game where another outing like that is needed.

This will be pivotal for Florida State’s chances of an upset. They need to keep him in the pocket enough to prevent him from moving the chains with his legs, and that could lead to some sacks and hopefully some turnovers, as mentioned earlier.
