Farmington football has forfeited its first four games of the 2026 Michigan high school football season because it used ineligible players.
Farmington, originally 3-3 entering Friday night’s Week 7, is now 1-5. The Falcons’ wins over Ann Arbor Huron and Walled Lake Northern were vacated by the Michigan High School Athletic Association after two ineligible players suited up for the first four games of the season, which Farmington split with a 2-2 record.

In a written statement, Farmington district athletic director Allyson Robinson said Thursday, Oct. 8: “Farmington Public Schools recently learned that residency information provided to the District for two Farmington High School students was inaccurate and that the students did not meet athletic eligibility requirements.
“Prior to the school year, the District completed the required eligibility process based on the information available at the time. District staff met with the family, reviewed the required residency documentation and confirmed the students’ transfer from their previous school.
“When FPS later learned that the residency information provided to the District was inaccurate, we addressed the students’ eligibility and self-reported the matter to the MHSAA. The MHSAA determined that the four varsity football games in which the students participated must be forfeited.”

Farmington had not answered follow-up questions from the Free Press by the time of this story’s publication.

At 1-5, Farmington now sits in 59th out of 62 Division 1 teams in playoff points, meaning the Falcons’ postseason hopes have dwindled drastically. Farmington has three games remaining against Milford, North Farmington and Livonia Churchill.
Farmington is coached by Kason Dickerson, who is in his first year in charge after previously coaching at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s as an assistant.
When contacted by the Free Press, Dickerson declined to comment.
Farmington’s past two games, a win over Livonia Stevenson and a loss to South Lyon East, were not impacted by the forfeits.

“While this outcome is disappointing for our student-athletes and coaches, our focus now is on supporting our football team,” Farmington said to close their statement. “These student-athletes have worked hard throughout the season, and we hope they will rally around one another, continue competing, and enjoy the opportunities still ahead of them this season.”
