We fully expect the Pittsburgh Steelers to trade at least one player before this year’s trade deadline. Pittsburgh has several top players with huge, bloated salaries and depth behind them that allows them to be on the block. However, they aren’t the highest-value players on the team.
ESPN’s Bill Barnwell went through all 32 NFL rosters to break down which players on every team are worth at least one first-round pick in a trade, with several teams having players worth multiple picks.

For the Steelers, Barnwell identified six players who would be worth one first-round pick via trade.
Cornerback – Joey Porter Jr.
Center – Zach Frazier
Offensive tackle – Troy Fautanu
Defensive tackle – Derrick Harmon
Edge defender – Nick Herbig
Defensive tackle – Keeanu Benton
Looking at this list, three quick thoughts come to mind. First, Porter is the one guy on this list who could be traded and if the two sides can’t agree on a contract extension, he might be. Second, we don’t see any scenario where a team would give the Steelers a first-round pick for Benton. He’s not been that good in his career and could even lose reps to Yahya Black this season. Finally, the other four guys on the list are cornerstones on the roster and would not be traded for a single pick.

Barnwell also makes a point to note that T.J. Watt and DK Metcalf aren’t on the list. While we agree on Metcalf, we could definitely see a needy team throwing a first-round pick to Pittsburgh for Watt if they agree to eat some of that huge contract.
