Tottenham Hotspur manager, Roberto De Zerbi, has explained why his team defeated Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
De Zerbi watched as Tottenham defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Mike Penders’ own goal in the 77th minute and Mathys Tel’s late goal ensured the visitors defeated the Blues.
Speaking to the BBC after the game, De Zerbi said Spurs deserved to win because his players worked very hard and prepared well against Xabi Alonso’s side.
“I think we deserved to win. The players worked very well and prepared very well for the game. This morning, yesterday, all days in the last week and the qualities of the players are very clear,” De Zerbi said.
“I’m happy for the spirit of the players,” he added.
Tottenham will now face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture at home.
