Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, has said they are ready to “move forward” with Bruno Fernandes as the team’s captain.
Carrick left Fernandes on the substitutes’ bench for the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
The decision came days after the Portugal midfielder criticised his manager’s tactics in the Champions League defeat at Como last week.
However, both men have held clear-the-air talks this week, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea.
Carrick has now publicly confirmed that Fernandes will keep the armband.
The 45-year-old hailed Fernandes’ commitment to the team and United as a whole.
He told reporters: “Bruno is fully committed to this football club.
“I’ve got no issues with that, we move forward.”
