Watch: Elliot Page’s Girlfriend Julia Shiplett Shows Rare Glimpse Inside Their Romance
Who wouldn’t ship Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett?
Especially after the Overcompensating actress shared a sweet inside look at the couple’s star-studded date night celebrating Page’s role in the highly anticipated film adaptation of The Odyssey.
“Saw this charming little indie called the odyssey (maybe based off a book?? not sure),” Shiplett wittily remarked of the Christopher Nolan epic on Instagram July 7. “Really loved it, you guys should try to find it if you can.”
Page and Shiplett—who debuted their romance in June 2025 with a Pride appreciation post—spent the evening getting dressed to the nines, screening the mythological movie and enjoying a martini at the after-party. There, they also hung out with Monarch actress Kiersey Clemons, snapping a selfie that was featured in Shiplett’s photo dump.
Still, the couple opted to keep their date on the private side, with Page walking red carpet solo. (He was instead joined by castmates Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Tom Holland, to name just a few of the ultra-A-list call sheet.)
While the romantic London soiree marks a rare public outing for Page and Shiplett, both 39, the pair also dabbled in a little PDA when Shiplett shared a birthday tribute for the Umbrella Academy star in February. At the time, she rounded up some of the pair’s most magical moments together on Instagram.
“Happy birthday E baby!! How lucky I am to have such a sweet, patient, supportive boo thang who always wants to order fries,” Shiplett quipped in the Feb. 21 tribute. “You’ve cracked my lil crone heart open and celebrating you is a breeze.”

The comedian also backed up Page—a trans man who re-introduced himself to the world in 2020 as Elliot—amid transphobic hate in the comment section of the celebration of love.
“Imagine spending this one short life obsessing over other people’s anatomy and leaving vile comments under a stranger’s cute birthday tribute,” Shiplett said in defense of her partner. “Gonna pray for a lot of you tonight.”

Despite keeping his identity hidden before the celebratory Instagram story, she previously shared with fans that she was in love.

The two were first spotted kissing on a date one month earlier in Hollywood, and now, the two are engaged. She confirmed as much in September by responding to a post on X that read, “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia.”
As for her edits, she simply wrote, “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”
More than a year later, the duo, who share son Roman Russell, tied the knot in a July 2024 ceremony in Scotland, though she later revealed they had legally married earlier that year in January.
