Watch: Ellen DeGeneres Debuts Blonde Look a Year After Gray Hair Transformation
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are happier than ever to support their friend.
The couple had a rare date night at the U.K. premiere of Billie Eilish‘s new concert film, Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), on April 28 in London, with the former talk show host quickly revealing her enthusiastic review of the experience.
“Portia and I just left the premiere for @billieeilish’s new 3D movie that she directed with @jamescameronofficial,” Ellen wrote alongside a photo of herself, Portia and Billie from the screening on Instagram April 28. “The behind-the-scenes footage is amazing. If you weren’t able to see Billie in concert, this is the next best thing and then some.”
And it was indeed a lovely night out for Ellen, 68, and Portia, 53, who were all smiles in the shot as they posed with Billie, 24, at the premiere of the film, which documents the singer on her recent Hit Me Hard and Soft tour.
While Ellen has been longtime friends with Billie, her stepping out to support the Grammy winner marked a rare public outing for the former television host and her wife of 17 years. The couple has been living a more private life since they moved from Montecito, Calif., to the English countryside.
“We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty,” Ellen said at a July 2025 event with broadcaster Richard Bacon, per the BBC. “The villages and the towns and the architecture—everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.”
“It’s clean. Everything here is just better—the way animals are treated, people are polite,” she added. “I just love it here. We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.”
