The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 15 people, including 14 Chinese nationals and one Nigerian, for alleged illegal lithium processing at four plants in the Ogere area of Ogun State.
A statement issued by the EFCC on Monday said that the arrests were made on Friday, October 23, 2026, by operatives of the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 following credible intelligence and surveillance.
The commission said the suspects were picked up at the four illegal lithium processing plants during the operation.

Items recovered from the suspects included bags of lithium rocks, 18 mobile devices, four computer laptops, two decoders, a television remote control and a trailer truck.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,” the statement noted.
