Initially riding off into the sunset at the end of the 2024 season following his second Super Bowl Championship win, Graham returned to the Eagles in 2025 after Za’Darius Smith announced his retirement, giving the veteran defensive lineman a chance to play alongside young players like Jalyx Hunt once more.
Discussing his connection to Graham and what he’s learned from the Eagles lifer in an appearance on 94WIP, Hunt gave BG his flowers, noting he taught him how to be an NFL player both on and off the field.

“My first impression of Brandon was, I don’t know how he does this he has to be lying to somebody because there’s no way he’s this energetic. This guy, every time you see him, right? Every time, without fail, whether it’s in the building or outside the building, if I see him interact with anybody else, or if he introduces me to somebody, he’s the same person,” Hunt said.

“So that’s something I picked up from him, but I also picked up that it’s a that this is more of a business than I originally thought it was. You know, it’s football at the end of the day, but to a certain degree we’re entertainers, and when you understand that, you understand that you have to be one way on the field and you have to be another way off the field, and you have to be able to walk into different rooms and be able to handle yourself accordingly. So I learned that from him that, hey, listen, football will get you far, and like you were saying, I don’t think BG’s BG if he wasn’t able to handle himself outside of the field as well as he’s done. So that’s what I’ve learned.”
Arguably the most exciting member of the Eagles’ young edge rushing group, Hunt came into the NFL as a Cornell safety who only transitioned to the defensive line during his final college season at Houston Christian. Now set to take an even bigger role in 2026 as one of the Eagles’ top-3 edges, it’s clear Hunt will put BG’s lessons to good use as he takes up the mantle as one of Philadelphia’s premier homegrown pass rushers.
