Watch: Dolly Parton’s Estate Names Her Niece Danielle Parton Brand Ambassador
Dolly Parton’s niece has landed a new 9 to 5.
Pilot Danielle Parton—the daughter of the singer’s brother Bobby Lee Parton and Doris Noland—was named brand ambassador of the late music legend’s estate Oct. 21.
And through a clip filmed before her death in August at 80, Dolly was able to participate in the unveiling. After being introduced by her aunt in an Instagram video, Danielle, 50, remarked, “I’m so grateful to help care for a legacy that means so much not only to my family but to all of you.”
“Like so many of you, losing her has changed something for me,” she continued. “It made me think of the stories, values and lessons that she left behind, and the responsibility that our family has to care for them.”
And the military veteran who served for 20 years in the National Guard is already employing the 9 to 5 actress’ signature sense of humor.
“I would never try to speak for Dolly, and I’m not crazy enough to try to fill her shoes. God knows I couldn’t walk on them without killing myself,” Danielle riffed. “What I can do is share the woman that I knew. I can tell some of the stories of her, the stories behind the global icon.”
As such, Danielle—who is cousins with Dolly’s former head of security Bryan Seaver—emphasized that when it comes to her duties, that cup of ambition includes supporting “the people carrying forward the work that she cared for and created to make sure what she built continues to bring people joy.”

For the estate, which has been involved in a legal dispute with Bryan, 49, since his firing from his role as her head of security for alleged threats of violence towards her manager Danny Nozell—accusations Bryan has denied—Danielle was the perfect person to continue to inherit Dolly’s coat of many colors.
“Danielle is a fitting ambassador to help celebrate Dolly’s legacy and connect with fans around the world,” a press release reported by multiple outlets read. “Danielle embodies the quick wit, strong work ethic and independent spirit that have made her aunt, Dolly Parton, an enduring cultural icon.”
But the entrepreneur isn’t the only one who will be thinking of Dolly every step of the way. Read on for stars’ stories about the “Jolene” artist’s impact.

“Later she shot a promo for her NBC Christmas special,” he continued, “and when she got on a stool wearing her short skirt she said to the audience, ‘I gotta be careful or else I’m gonna show y’all my box office!'”The former Saturday Night Live member praised Parton’s joke.”Too dirty for church, too clean for the bar,” he added. “Just like her, it was just right. “If there’s someone you wanna look up to and model your life after, it’s Dolly,” Perry concluded. “Dolly was glam, funny, and kind as fuck. Her star will forever shine bright and I bet you she’s already remodeling them pearly gates with rhinestones.”
