A crash between a car and a motorcycle on Scott Road Wednesday afternoon sent the rider to hospital, and left the bike dangling high above the roadway.

The crash, which happened at the entrance to Scottsdale Centre around 71st avenue, snarled traffic in the area as emergency services dealt with the accident and its aftermath. Scott Road between 70th and 72nd was closed as crews worked to remove the debris and the vehicles involved.

The rider was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to Delta Police. The driver of the silver BMW, which sustained massive front-end damage, was uninjured in the accident.

The bike, which appeared to be a late-model Suzuki GSXR, was snarled in the traffic lights controlling the intersection.
