Ryan Reynolds donned a Canadian tuxedo-style Deadpool outfit and popped up at Comic-Con in San Diego.

The Vancouver actor appeared in Hall H on July 25, during Marvel’s presentation for Avengers: Doomsday, which will feature X-Men characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the first time.

Reynolds interrupted the event which included plenty of Doomsday stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie and Pedro Pascal.

“This seems like an awfully expensive way to announce a film. When do you start filming?” asked Deadpool whose appearance in the new movie hasn’t been confirmed.

Downey Jr., who plays Doctor Doom, shot back, “It’s in the can, bro. Look around you,” he said, referencing the packed auditorium of fans. “Did you bump your head?”

Deadpool/Reynolds responded with disappointment in his voice.

“I see. So there’s no additional photography, no overages, maybe last-minute additions,” he said, adding: “No further questions. Happy Hogan, fetch the Audi. We’re leaving.”

The grey Deadpool getup is apparently Wade Wilson’s alternate superhero look, which comes from Deadpool’s time in the comics with the covert Uncanny X-Force team.

Reynolds has been getting around lately. On July 19 he appeared at Fanatics Fest 2026 in New York, at The Art Of Deadpool panel. It’s there Reynolds, not in costume, confirmed that Deadpool, a.k.a. the Merc with a Mouth will be coming back to movie screens for a fourth time.
