NORMAN — Oklahoma defensive tackle David Stone was listed as questionable to play in the Sooners‘ road game against Georgia on the initial SEC availability report released Wednesday night.
Stone dislocated his knee cap during a jog through against the scout team offense during Monday’s practice.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound star tackle is one of the best defensive linemen in college football with first-round NFL Draft talent. After a slow start to the season, Stone recorded a career-high eight tackles in OU’s win over New Mexico.
If he’s unable to play against the Bulldogs, the Sooners will likely heavily lean on backups Nigel Smith II, Bishop Thomas and Trent Wilson. Boise State transfer Braxton Fely and Arkansas transfer Danny Saili, who received temporary restraining orders earlier this month, could also play more snaps.

It’s no secret OU has struggled up front through three games this season.

Coach Brent Venables singled out inconsistent offensive line play and turnovers as the two most significant factors holding back the Sooners at this point. Missing left tackle Michael Fasusi the past two games due to a shoulder injury hasn’t helped things.
Fasusi was listed as out on Wednesday’s availability report. Venables had said he expected Fasusi’s injury to be “short-term” but the talented second-year lineman will miss his third consecutive game.
What does this mean for OU’s starting offensive line against the Bulldogs? It’s certainly possible the Sooners decide to switch things up and start veteran Heath Ozaeta over Eddy Pierre-Louis, who has struggled mightily.
True freshman Noah Best was not listed on the report and will be available after starting against the Lobos last week but playing only nine snaps with a brace on his elbow.
