David Beckham Tears Up Thanking His Family at Walk of Fame Ceremony

For the occasion, which saw the former England captain’s friends Tom Cruise and Robbie Keane join in to mark the milestone, Beckham arrived in a classic blue suit, while the Spice Girls alum opted to match in a sleek long-sleeved turtleneck midi gown. 

Although the 51-year-old was accompanied by Victoria, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, their eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham—who along with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham is currently estranged from the family—was noticeably not in attendance for the ceremony.

Nonetheless, David’s wife of 26 years has proven to be the real MVP on his team through all the ups and downs. 

“David is such a great husband, such a great dad and the most incredible business partner that anybody could ever want,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2019. “He really supports me in what I do.”

And the former Manchester United player knows all too well that a successful relationship isn’t always the easiest to navigate.

“We know each other better than anybody,” he said on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs in 2017. “People have talked about, ‘Do we stay together because it’s a brand?’ Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children.”

“Do you go through tough times? Of course,” David continued. “That’s part of relationships. It’s part of marriages. It’s part of having children. It’s part of having responsibilities.”

He and Victoria, 52, have also passed those beliefs on to their kids, too. 

“We’re a strong family unit,” he added. “We’ve got strong parents. We were brought up with the right values. Of course, you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times. It’s about working through it.”
