Watch: Dakota Johnson, Role Model Break Up Weeks After He Confirmed Romance
Dakota Johnson is leaning on her social network following her split from Role Model.
Nearly one month after multiple outlets reported that the Fifty Shades of Grey alum and the “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” hitmaker broke up, Johnson hit the town with Machine Gun Kelly.
Indeed, the pair recently enjoyed a casual outing in New York City, where they exited a black SUV together, as seen photos obtained by TMZ. For the occasion, Johnson, 36, wore a black tank top, black pants and a matching purse while her brunette locks cascaded over her shoulders.
Meanwhile, MGK—dad to daughters Casie, 17, with ex Emma Cannon and Saga, 17 months, with ex-fiancée Megan Fox—donned black pants, a white tank top, a pair of sneakers and a jacket that featured a skeleton on the back.
To top off his look, the “cliché” singer kept it low key in a fitted hat and black sunglasses.
But the outing wouldn’t mark the first time these two have rubbed shoulders. After all, they were both welcomed to New York by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for the couple’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Johnson and Role Model (real name Tucker Pillsbury) broke up less than a year after sparking dating rumors, multiple outlets reported on Aug. 19.

Just weeks earlier, Role Model, 29, raved about collaborating with the Madame Web star on his latest album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, in which she made a spoken-word cameo on the track “Love I You.”
“I had a lot of names to pick from that,” the musician shared in a Nylon interview published Aug. 4, explaining how producer Mason Stoops played a role in making it happen. “Dakota came to the studio one day and Mason was like, ‘Why don’t you do it?'”
Though Role Model was initially hesitant, thinking, “Stop! We’re not mixing work and relationships,” he was able to lean into the idea after seeing Johnson’s masterful performance on the track.

“She was like, ‘I’ll do it,’ and stood right up and got in the booth and knocked it out better than we could have imagined,” he recalled. “So I was like, OK, if she’s down—I mean, that’s an amazing cameo.”
Even so, the “Writing’s On The Wall” singer admitted he intends on staying true to an important motto regarding his personal life moving forward.
“Keeping things about music is what I’ve learned,” he added. “Otherwise, the internet just has a field day.”
