Cricbuzz reported the budget has been increased from 125 crore to 130 crore for the 2027 mini-auction.

CSK had a full 25-player squad following the IPL 2026 auction, comprising 17 Indian and eight overseas players. Their four-player trade with SRH does not change the overall squad size, but it increases their overseas contingent to nine.

With nine overseas players in their projected squad, CSK will need to release or trade at least one overseas player before the auction to comply with the squad composition rules.

CSK could have additional slots and a bigger auction purse depending on their retention and release decisions ahead of the November 17 deadline.
