Watch: Christine Taylor Details Reconciliation With Ben Stiller Years After “Challenging” Split
Along came reconciliation for Ben Stiller and wife Christine Taylor.
The Craft actress—who shares kids Ella, 24, and Quinlin, 20, with the Along Came Polly star—shared insight into how she and Ben revived their marriage years after their 2017 breakup.
“If there was a silver lining for us during COVID, that was the little gift,” Christine said on the May 26 episode of The McBride Rewind podcast of how the duo patched up their relationship during the COVID-19 pandemic. “We all kind of bubbled up together with the kids. Our daughter was graduating high school at the time, our son was graduating eighth grade.”
With “nothing but time,” the 54-year-old shared how “Ben and I spent a lot of time just working on us with a therapist. We’d log into Zoom and we’d do our therapy sessions and really found the way back.”
Christine and Ben—who met on the 1999 set of Heat Vision and Jack before tying the knot in 2000—announced they were separating in May 2017.
“We were just not on the same page with a lot of things and working so hard to try to make it fit and make it right,” The Brady Bunch Movie actress explained, “and I think really when we kind of just zoomed out on it, it was like, ‘Let’s just put a pause here.’”
Though the breakup felt right for the couple in the moment, “it was very difficult to come to that decision.”

“It was not without, you know, a heavy heart and feeling really even dejected at the time of like, ‘This is not how I imagined it was going to be and we should have been able to work it out,’” she added. “I mean, it was challenging.”
But through it all, their kids always came first.
“We were always in contact,” Christine explained. “We were co-parenting together. We were spending time together as a family.”
In 2022, Ben, 60, revealed that their co-parenting dynamic had flourished into something more.
“We were separated and got back together and we’re happy about that,” the Night at the Museum star told Esquire at the time. “It’s been really wonderful for all of us.”
“Unexpected,” he added, “and one of the things that came out of the pandemic.”
