Watch: Christian Bale Shares Rare Insight Into His Daughter Luka’s Modeling, Directing Career
Christian Bale knows his little woman will go far.
The Batman Begins actor recently shared his reaction to his and wife Sibi Blazic’s 21-year-old daughter Luka creating a name for herself in the modeling and photography industries.
“She’s incredibly talented as a photographer and as a model herself and I do see her directing me one day,” Bale told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview at the Madden premiere in Los Angeles Nov. 4. “She’s got an amazing mind. An amazing creative brain and incredible visions et cetera. I’m so bloody proud of her.”
And Bale—also dad to a 12-year-old son with Blazic—is “absolutely” sure his daughter will be a great director to him some day. Although, he’s sure she’ll run a stricter set than Christopher Nolan.
“I’d probably behave better for her than everybody else ever,” he joked. “I’m terrified.”
Meanwhile, the Big Short actor is willing to bet that Luka already understands the workings of the industry better than he does.
“I’ve got no idea about it,” he quipped. “I still don’t know how to do this. I still mess up all the time. She’s got a great head on her shoulders.”
Of course, one part of filmmaking Bale will always understand is how to get in character. Starring alongside Nicolas Cage—who plays the titular football coach John Madden in the upcoming Prime Video film—the 52-year-old noted that getting into the head of Madden’s friend and fellow NFL coach Al Davis was a fun challenge.
“It was fantastic because I’ve really appreciated Nic’s acting and his choices and his life,” Bale explained. “He’s someone who lives an interesting life. And Al did that and John did that, you know? These are great characters.”
Plus, Bale had the perfect teammate—or screen partner—in Cage.

“Seeing Nic’s absolute love of John and devotion to him was wonderful,” he shared. “And equally I had that love and devotion to Al Davis who was just such an iconic character.”
But while Bale is always in awe of Luka and his son, he joked the feeling is not entirely mutual when it came to him transforming into his latest character.
“They’re used to me,” he added. “They just think I’m insane but that’s normal. That’s how it is.”
