The Chargers‘ 2026 season is a little over a week away, and their first opponent will be the Cardinals.
Los Angeles will look to kick off their season on the right foot as they get set to host a team that is expected to be one of the worst teams in the league. Nonetheless, the NFL is a week-to-week league, but the Bolts do have a golden opportunity.

The Cardinals may not have much going for them, but they do have All-Pro safety Budda Baker on their side. Baker recently appeared on The Jim Rome Show and discussed the challenges his team will face against the Chargers.
“That’s a high-powered offense right there,” Baker said. “With a Harbaugh offense, you know it starts with the run game, just the ability that [Justin] Herbert has, to be able to throw inside the pocket, outside the pocket. He can launch the ball 70 yards in the air. Having that arm strength as a QB is just something different for DBs to understand.”
The Chargers’ offense and the play of Justin Herbert are set to be must-watch, with Mike McDaniel being banked on to transform the unit in a big way.
McDaniel’s offensive scheme is set to do wonders, but Herbert has a chance to elevate it. The 28-year-old could have his biggest season yet, and anything short of that will be considered underwhelming.

It all kicks off in Week 1, and while Baker will have something to say about it, the Chargers’ offense will look to prove its biggest believers right.
The Bolts are heavy home favorites in their Week 1 contest at -10.5.
