Clearly, the breakout star at Peach Jam was Cayden Daughtry, who went off like a Roman Candle in North Augusta this past week.
He racked up 258 points, 49 assists, 34 rebounds, 23 steals, and averaged 34.8 ppg, which was all sensational.

He’s drawn comparisons with Trae Young, who also had a tremendous performance at Peach Jam.
However, Daughtry is very slight at just 6-foot maybe and about 165 lbs. Still, if you’ve got it, you’ve got it, and he was a sensation.
It’s worth noting that he played with Team USA in Turkey, helping the U.S. to win gold. However, in that tournament, he was the backup to Beckham Black, averaging 11.7 points and 4.7 assists in 17.9 minutes per game.
Now we’ll see who pursues him the most avidly. One strong candidate: Miami, which is basically a bike ride away from Boynton Beach, where Daughtry plays for Calvary Christian. Miami is very likely to have someone at every possible game Daughtry plays.

The list of schools in pursuit of Daughtry is sure to expand, but the other schools currently in play may include Louisville, which has shown it will not be outspent by many schools, Florida State, Iowa, USC, and Michigan. It wouldn’t surprise us to see St. John’s or Virginia get involved, since both Rick Pitino and Ryan Odom have a keen appreciation for small guards.
Michigan is in a different situation now with Dusty May having taken the Dallas Mavericks job, so who knows, but Elliot Cadeau will turn over the job to someone else next year, and that might appeal to Daughtry.
We haven’t seen anything to suggest that Duke has joined the chase, but given what Daughtry just did, that wouldn’t be hard to imagine.
Whatever happens, it’s quickly become one of the most interesting pursuits in the Class of 2027.
