All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson is great at many things, though patience is becoming one of his most underrated abilities. He’s dealt with mediocre to bad quarterback play for more than a year now, most recently with a past-his-prime Kyler Murray.
While his numbers have dipped, Jefferson isn’t throwing Murray or anyone else under the bus. He’s actually expressed faith in Murray amid his rocky debut season in Minnesota.

“I feel like Kyler has continued to grow,” Jefferson said, per ESPN. “I feel like Kyler is continuing to get comfortable with this offense. And I feel like the plays that are there are plays that he’s well capable of making. And those are plays that we’ve seen him make multiple times throughout the season, throughout practice and in training camp as well. So we definitely have faith in him. We have confidence in him to go out there and be that guy that we need him and want him to be.”
Well, Murray won’t be the guy Monday night against the Buffalo Bills. Carson Wentz is slated to start with Murray now week-to-week with a hip injury, giving the 11-year veteran a chance to win the job if he plays good enough.
The first step for Wentz: feeding Jefferson.
“Just get him the rock,” Wentz said. “He’s as good as I’ve been around. And I look forward to just, I wanna get him the rock as much as anybody.”

That’s music to Jefferson’s ears, and certainly positive news for anyone who has him on their fantasy football teams.
