With the Arizona Cardinals‘ 1-4 start, many fans have been waiting for a change in role for rookie quarterback Carson Beck. That is not happening this week.
While on Monday, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters that the topic would be addressed in a meeting, he said on Wednesday in his press conference before their first practice of Week 5 that nothing is changing with Beck. He will remain as the team’s No. 3 quarterback and emergency option on game days. “Nothing new for this week, no,” he said.

When the depth chart for Week 6 was released, Beck was still listed No. 3 behind starter Jacoby Brissett and backup Gardner Minshew.
With every loss, the cries for Beck to play will get louder, as he is a rookie and fans will want to see if he possibly could be the answer at the position moving forward. With Brissett 2-15 in 17 starts with the Cardinals and nearly 34 years old, he isn’t the answer.
Things can change from week to week, so each loss will trigger questions each week moving forward.
