Real Madrid striker Carlos Espí has been called up by Luis de la Fuente to replace Ferrán Torres in the Spanish national team during the rest of the FIFA break. Espí scored five goals for Spain’s U21 team just a few days ago and that earned him the nod to replace Torres.
The striker will join Real Madrid defenders Marc Cucurella and Dean Huijsen, who are also with the Spanish national team during the break. It will be interesting to see if Espí is given the chance to play some minutes and make his debut for his country.
Spain will face the Czech Republic in Oviedo tonight and then will wrap up this FIFA break by visiting Croatia on Tuesday.
