Former Indianapolis Colts‘ kicker Adam Vinatieri spent 14 seasons wearing the horseshoe, becoming a franchise pillar and ultimately the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. In August, he is set to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Many inductees choose a former teammate, family member or mentor to present their enshrinement. However, Vinatieri went a slightly more untraditional route, as he asked current Colts team owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon in a video shown on the Colts’ X account.
“Your family, your father, meant the world to me and my family,” Vinatieri told Irsay-Gordon in the clip.

Vinatieri, who won 3 Super Bowls with the Patriots, also acknowledged the impact Irsay-Gordon’s late father, Jim Irsay, had on Vinatieri’s time in Indianapolis and the franchise as a whole;
“He’s always had so much passion for the team, and he brought that to you guys,” Vinatieri emotionally shared with Irsay-Gordon.
Vinatieri will become the sixth player in Indianapolis Colts‘ franchise history to get enshrined in Canton since 2000. He will join former teammates such as Marvin Harrison (2016), Peyton Manning (2021), Edgerrin James (2020), and Dwight Freeney (2023). Additionally, former coach Tony Dungy (2016), and former front-office member Bill Polian (2015) have also been inducted since Vinatieri’s time in Indianapolis.
